Granada

Ok NOW I'm in Granada.  I'm pretty tired (2nd day of jet lag) so this'll be short.  I had a long day of orientation about keeping healthy and safe and how to act with my host family.  The thing that stood out the most was the fact we need to take NAVY SHOWERSSSS.  Like literally, wash then turn the water on, then wash again, etc.  I'm about to go try that, I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, you must change shoes in the house.  Slippers must be worn all the time.  Or flip flops, which is what I'm doing.

My host mother is awesome.  I just wish I could speak more Spanish to her!  I literally am constipated at the mouth.  I am trying to listen to her, comprehend, then speak but first I have to conjugate verbs in my head then try to remember vocabulary...UGH it's hard.  But I've only been here for a couple of hours. I have yet to meet my "dad" but my brother (19) and sister (17) have been very helpful to me.  They helped me with the internet and my phone and talked to me at dinner (dinner is very light, we had a fríta or something...ahaha...it was eggs and potatoes fried together into a patty type thing.  It's NOT a frittata though...that was made clear.  It's different (I don't know how).  Plus fresh tomatoes.

From now on, though, I won't be eating dinner here.  I either go out or make a sandwich of my own.  The family gives me breakfast and lunch (the biggest meal of the day).

So I'm still getting used to it!  It's basically my first day.  Tomorrow will be better, especially after my intensive spanish class in the morning!
